Celebrating the achievements and aspirations of the
Class of 2025
Beyond the numbers at UWC South East Asia
While the pursuit of academic excellence remains at the heart of a UWCSEA education, we recognise that success takes many forms and means different things to each of our graduates. The diversity in their learning journeys and accomplishments is how we define success at the College.
So, let's take a moment to celebrate how the students of Class of 2025 have grown as individuals, ready to take on the next chapter of their lives.
Students leave UWCSEA prepared not just for university, but for life
Each IB student has put in years of hard work to identify and pursue their passions, understand their strengths and develop aspirations for their futures. Our graduates have learned to rise to challenges and navigate setbacks, build resilience, courage and confidence.
"Since I was six years old I have loved soccer, and I haven't stopped playing. So it's my passion, and I tried to align my studies with soccer as well, taking Econs and Sports Science because it aligns with my interest in Sports Management in the future. It's great because you're more attentive in class. You understand things easier."

"To be able to continue learning my language Khmer while I'm away from home is something that I am truly grateful for. I didn't have to give up my home language just because I'm in an international environment where English is the primary language. During an identity crisis moment, it held me tight when I missed home, because I sat there learning my language and doing things related to my core identity, who I am, and where I grew up."

"I chose Design Technology and it was such a wild, interesting experience. I think it's a very unique IB course where a lot of your grade and a lot of the value is put on coursework. That experience of just making a product for the better part of one and a half years … it's like your baby, right? That was such a cool experience."

"Being at UWCSEA has made me think of people who are back home in South Sudan. So, I’ve been through the UWCSEA experience and I’ve been thinking all along: Yes, I go to school, get the grade that I want. But I feel like that's not enough. That's not what I should leave with… So I sat down to think about: What could I really do? And came up with this ‘Initiative for Peace’ where we sponsor kids from different communities in South Sudan, take them to school… We need to use education as a bridge to bring different communities together."

"I was the vice chair of the Global Concerns (GC) Executive Committee, which I really loved. That was my favourite activity. I was also the chair of Cahaya Surya Bakti (CSB), the GC which works with Rohingya refugees, educating them in Johor Bahru. For me, the GC programme was the best activity I did outside of Academics that you don't see. And I'm really glad I had the opportunity. "

"Sport was a huge part of my high school experience. I was part of the Varsity Touch Girl’s team for the past four years. I was able to captain them for the past two years. That whole experience, including the trips, the training really made my high school experience. I was also part of the Varsity Softball team, and again, just the community and the team that we're able to stand with … It's just really incredible and I'm really grateful for them."

“I think it's incredibly important to highlight my parents who told me that even if I thought I couldn’t do it, they never thought that. That’s how the entire community is here and that’s incredibly encouraging.”

Diversity is our strength, immersing students in opportunities to learn and live the UWC Mission now and in the future
Our graduates will enter the world beyond school with a unique experience of what matters now more than ever - peace, sustainability and intercultural understanding. Having studied alongside students with first nationalities from more than 118 countries, with 84 languages spoken, they have traversed cultures through dance, food, performance, classes, activities, expeditions, community events and more. They have learnt about sustainability in many of the same ways and will take these experiences forward into their futures.
