A Night of Adventure

Grade 2 students go camping for the first time!

Explore the wilderness on a night at the Singapore Zoological Gardens with our Grade 2 students! This exciting two-day, one-night camp gives our students the chance to connect with nature, learn more about themselves and others, and build strong bonds with their peers. 

Grade 2 Zoo Camp is an important event in our Outdoor Education Programme for these young learners and prepares them for the excitement of their Grade 3 camp in the school year ahead. Together they undertake team challenges and curriculum-linked observational tasks designed to build confidence, resilience, and essential life skills. 

Supported by their teachers and one another, these adventurers embraced the thrill of staying out at night without their parents. We’re so proud of our brave little explorers!

Free and Easy Exploration

Discovering the Zoo at Their Own Pace

Students were given the freedom to explore the zoo’s exhibits without the constraints of guided tours. This self-directed approach allowed them to engage with the diverse habitats and fascinating wildlife at their own pace, resulting in a more personalized and enriching learning experience.

Students were thrilled by the Splash Safari Presentation, where they enjoyed an entertaining and educational sea lion show. The lively performance captivated them, combining fun antics with insightful information about these amazing marine animals.

Refreshing Break Before the Fragile Forest

A picnic-style lunch offered students a refreshing break, allowing them to relax and recharge. Afterward, they continued to the Fragile Forest, where they experienced a rainforest ecosystem up close, adding an immersive and educational element to their day.

An Exclusive Look at Zoo Operations

The Behind the Scenes Tour provided an exclusive glimpse into the zoo's inner workings and animal care practices. This unique experience sparked curiosity and wonder, giving our students a deeper understanding of the dedication and effort involved in maintaining a world-class zoo.

KidzWorld

Interactive Exhibits and Play Areas for Fun and Learning

KidzWorld offered a vibrant space filled with interactive exhibits and play areas, providing the students with additional fun and learning opportunities. This engaging environment encouraged hands-on exploration and discovery, making it a favourite among our young visitors.

Adventure and Delightful Dinner

A short trek to the Pavilion added an element of adventure to the day’s itinerary. This scenic journey was followed by a delightful dinner, providing a perfect conclusion to the day's activities and leaving our students with lasting memories.

A Thrilling and Educational Highlight

The Night Safari was a highlight of the camp, offering students the unique opportunity to observe nocturnal animals in their natural habitats. This thrilling and educational experience provided a deeper understanding of wildlife behaviour after dark, making it an unforgettable part of the adventure.

Cosy Sleeping Quarters

Restful Retreat After a Day of Exploration

After a full day of exploration and learning, students retreated to cosy sleeping quarters provided by the zoo. These comfortable accommodations offered a peaceful and rejuvenating environment, ensuring students were well-rested for another day of exciting adventures ahead.

The next morning, students enjoyed a Breakfast Buffet in the Wild, surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature. This final meal together was a perfect way to conclude the camp, leaving students with lasting memories and a greater appreciation for the natural world.
